This weekend was pretty good on the “Good Scale” I worked some at the office, maybe 30 minutes 45 at the most, then ran off to eat lunch with the guys and chill some. I talked to Amy a little while and the off to be with PG and get his barn under way. We broke for a while as he grabbed his remote control helicopters his is yellow and Jacks is of course green. I took control of the green, for a while, until, the fateful side of the barn accident. I swore that barn wasn’t there before!
We both just stood there in amazement, not only the fact it looked like it should have been in a movie. The damn thing exploded on impact and fell on fire, damn it why didn’t we put army men inside? Lori gave out the “Ohhhhh Jacks is going to be mad!!” Shtick, as we both chuckled and ran to put the small flame out.
So, another long break we drove over to the hobby store where my PG hangs out. I like going in there, but its been a while, usually covered in geeky adults and wild hyper children. This time was no different. PG said not to worry we will grab Jacks the latest version of the helicopter and be done with it. Not so, when my PG goes in there its like he’s drifted off into his child hood. There are old train sets and sceneries that would astound you, Jacks has one in his room, a mini diorama of a N scale train set, they both tinker and add to it.
So I walk over and looking at some more of the sets and I see it, its like I had an epiphany. A rock and waterfall set up, just what I needed to work on. I could easily incorporate this into my work by making a smaller model of the waterfall and bring it to scale. I played with it a little on Saturday night and left it to go out.
Sunday, another full meal with G and then to work it off with PG at the barn, thank goodness we have the roof up now so when the small rains come we are protected. The barn isn’t 300 yards away from my lot in a subdivision that joins the back part of the farm. We stopped a while to check it out, finally they have the streets cut for my phase and almost the sidewalks. My lot looked weed ridden and a few lots out a newer house was being built. Its strange the economy isn’t really contusive to house building or buying right now. A pity, because I’m ready to build and get out of the house now, later on Lori and I looked at paints and woods for the floors, she’s going to help me decorate at least “her” room. I can only imagine what G and Mom have plans in store for it.
